Jelena Dokic an Pfeiffer´schem Drüsenfieber erkrankt
Die Australierin Jelena Dokic muß einen erneuten Rückschlag verkraften. Die 26-jährige ist wie jetzt bekannt wurde am Pfeiffer´schen Drüsenfieber erkrankt.
Erst im Januar war sie, nach Jahren der persönlichen Probleme und psychischen Beschwerden, in die erweiterete Weltspitze zurückgekehrt, als sie das Viertelfinale der Australian Open erreichte. Damals sprang Dokic zurück unter die Top 100 und Experten trauten ihr für 2009 eine rasante Rückkehr in die Weltspitze zu.
Doch die Leistungen staknierten von da an. Nun noch 2 Matches konnte Dokic auf der WTA-Tour gewinnen – die Erstrundenspiele in Miami und bei den French Open. Nach dem Aus in Wimbledon in Runde 1 gegen die Deutsche Tatjana Malek klagt Dokic sich insgesamt krank zu fühlen. Eine grundlegende Untersuchen ergab nun die Diagnose des Pfeiffer´schem Drüsenfieber, welches durch seine, einer normalen Grippe entsprechenden Symtome, oft länger unbemerkt bleibt.
Dokic zeigte sich enttäuscht nun eine längere Pause einlegen zu müssen, aber auch erleichtert nun Klarheit über ihren Gesundeheitszustand zu haben
